In 2011, Rick Gatewood felt inspired to help those in need during Thanksgiving. He reached out to others in the Tomball, TX area, and soon, local people, businesses, churches, and schools joined forces, recognizing the community’s need. Ron and his family helped out for six years. After a successful event, he decided he needed to start this event in the DFW area and so Familes Feeding Families DFW-Midcities was born in 2023.

Families Feeding Families is dedicated to serving the Mid-Cities DFW area by offering free hot Thanksgiving meals and being the hands and feet of service to families in need. We strive to restore dignity, bring hope, and meet both immediate and short-term needs within our community on this day.
